KU welcomed delegations from Higashikawa City, Japan

On Wednesday 7th April 2021, at 13.30 PM., in Room 9 on the 2nd floor of the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building, Kasetsart University. Assistant Professor Dr. Kampanat PENSUPAR, Vice President for International Affairs along with Associate Professor Dr. Montri Tangpijaikul, Associate Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Humanities, Miss Araya Bijaphala, Director of International Affairs Division, and lecturers from Department of Eastern Languages, Faculty of Humanities welcomed delegations from Higashikawa City, Japan led by Mr. Satoshi ODA, representative form Office of Higashikawa Municipality; on the occasion of visiting Kasetsart University.

The purpose of this visit is to establish a new collaboration between Higashikawa and Kasetsart University, in which the Office of Higashikawa Municipality offers 2 scholarships for both full-term and short-term Japanese language programs for Kasetsart University’s student. This language course provides by 2 prestigious institutes support by the Japanese government that specializes in teaching the Japanese language for foreigners. Moreover, Mr. Satoshi ODA also gave further information about current Thai students who took a language course in Higashikawa City, which approximately 200 students in total.

Hence, Assistant Professor Dr. Kampanat PENSUPAR depicted that Kasetsart University is delighted to collaborate with the Office of Higashikawa Municipality under the MoU. Furthermore, Associate Professor Dr. Montri Tangpijaikul also share some thoughts about the possibility to make a credit transfer and internship for Kasetsart University’s students who participate in this kind of scholarship, which will benefit both sides.

Higashikawa City, located in Hokkaido Province, was named “The City of Picture” because of the abundance of natural resources and scenic view especially the famous mineral water which residents use instead of the tap water. This wonderful city was ranked as one of the tourist attractions places in Hokkaido Province and also Japan.
