KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program 2018

       The International Affairs Division, Kasetsart University has introduced KU Student Ambassador or KUSAm to support the internationalization of Kasetsart University both domestically and internationally. KU Student Ambassador or KUSAm is a volunteer student who has been working closely with the staff of the International Affairs Division in order to promote the international image of Kasetsart University. KU Student Ambassador or KUSAm has been around since in the past. The current KUSAm Training and Workshop Program is the First Batch of KUSAm for 2018.

        Since the International Affairs Division has been deactivated from organizing the KUSAm Training and Workshop Program for a while, to be consistent with the international development policy of Kasetsart University which focuses on increasingly graduates quality, therefore, the team has realized and brought KUSAm to do it all again this year.

          KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program aims to produce KU graduates who are ready for any workplace specifically for the international arena; can contribute to the University ‘s success; and becoming the major force of the nation. As a result, the International Affairs Division has improved its past projects. This year KUSAm Training and Workshop program was held for five consecutive days from 21 to 25 May 2018 – all day, at Room 408, Office of Computer Services Kasetsart University.

      The first day of class started on 21 May 2018, Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak TAYJASANANT, Acting Assistant to the President and Acting Director of the International Affairs Division delivered a report of KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program 2018; followed by Associate Professor Dr. Ladawan PUANGCHIT, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.  Then the program in the morning has started an activity on “Nice to Meet You & Let’s Break the Ice” by an instructor- Mr. Narudol SEMCHUCHOT, Language and Culture Training at Thai Airways International Public Company Limited and lecture on “Personality of KU Student Ambassador” in the afternoon by a guest lecturer – Ms. Chanokarn VEERA KATITHAM, Tuniez83 & beauty blogger.

        On 22 May 2018, KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program 2018 focused on listen to lectures and practice on topics “Enhancing Confidence in Communication” by Dr. Wannana SOONTORNNARUERANGSEE, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Faculty of Humanities at Kasetsart University and Mr. Narudol SEMCHUCHOT.

      The activity on 23 May 2018 was a special lecture on “KU Student Ambassador Campus Tour” by Mr. Piwat HITAKORN, an instructor from Department of Foreign Language, Faculty of Humanities at Kasetsart University. The lecturer brought the students to visit a Must Check-in @ Kasetklang Bangkhen such as Office of Kasetsart University Library, Kasetsart University Hall of History, Three Founders Monument, and Kasetsart University Main Auditorium. This campus visiting is the best way to get a feel for the campus and know how to conduct campus tour as KU Student Ambassador.

        A field trip study on 24 May 2018 was another fun and exciting day for each KU Student Ambassador. The International Affairs Division team has managed and brought all students to take a study trip at the Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT). Students have learned lot of information about the Suvarnabhumi Airport such as the structure and the history as well as operation plans to prepare for the increasing number of visitors in the future. After that, the students paid a visit to the Suan Dusit International Culinary School at Suan Dusit University and listened a special lecture on “Thai Food and Culture” by Dr. Niphatchanok NAJPINIJ (Suan Dusit Rajabhat University). Students said they have learned about aesthetics in the taste of Thai food either smell or beauty.

       25 May 2018, the last day of KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program 2018 was a special lecturer on “Understand the history and cultural differences for smooth interactions” by Mr. Sitthard SRIKOTR, an instructor from Department of History, Faculty of Social Sciences at Kasetsart University.  And finally the last activity evaluation through the presentation of each student conducted by Mr. Narudol SEMCHUCHOT.

      Then, there was a KUSAm Certificate and Jacket Award Ceremony presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak TAYJASANANT, Acting Assistant to the President and Acting Director of the International Affairs Division. KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program 2018 ended in beautiful and impressive. There were 44 participants from all campuses of Kasetsart University and from many faculties such as Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Management and etc. It is a great pride of Kasetsart University that will have a KU Student Ambassador (KUSAm) who has the knowledge and ability to represent the university international activities and well prepared for the future opportunities.

KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program 2019

Nowadays, in the context of various changes that occurred in the era of globalization, we cannot avoid interactions with people from many countries who come to Thailand. International capabilities will help Kasetsart University students move toward the world of work confidently, and ensure the best quality which is preferred by entrepreneurs after students’ graduation as well as continuing to study at a higher level.

The International Affairs Division (IAD) at the Office of the President, Kasetsart University recognizes the continuation of international quality development of students which has initiated the policy and put into concrete practice. Therefore, the IAD has continually organized Kasetsart University KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program Batch 2 for the second year in 2019, consecutively 5 days during May 27 – 31 2019. The training and workshop sessions are a lecture series format together with activities based learning to provide knowledge related to international relations practice and study visit both in and off KU campus. All project activities were carried out in English throughout the training week by qualified and experienced speakers. KUSAm who have completed the training workshop will receive a certificate from Kasetsart University; and be able to perform as a student representative who can working closely with personnel of the International Affairs Division to support the international work of Kasetsart University both in the country and abroad, such as welcoming foreign visitors on special occasions, facilitating of international conferences or seminars.

In the past, KUSAm participated in the 75th anniversary of the president’s forum and 76 years of the establishment of Kasetsart University. Such activities help promote the good image of Kasetsart University students; in accordance with the international development policy of Kasetsart University that focuses on graduate quality. Kasetsart University Student Ambassador, KUSAm project will allow students to develop their potential and personality to be more universal. Which will contribute to helping build graduates with international quality and driving the international image of the university. And every graduate is an important force of the nation in the future.

KU Student Ambassador Training Workshop Batch 2, in the year of 2019 started on Monday 27 May 2019, Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak TAYJASANANT, Acting Assistant to the President and Acting Director of the International Affairs Division delivered a report of KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program 2019; followed by Associate Professor Dr. Ladawan PUANGCHIT, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

The training workshop was created by many professional and experienced speakers to transfer knowledge clearly over a period of 5 days. In each training topic, all speakers have presented the lectures together with activities based learning, which is the learning management process that the students have learned and used the process of thinking about what they have received from the training workshop.

We started the activities on Monday morning, 27 May 2019 with the Nice to meet you & Let’s Break the Ice activity by an instructor- Mr. Narudol SEMCHUCHOT, Language and Culture Training at Thai Airways International Public Company Limited and lecture on “Personality of KU Student Ambassador” in the afternoon by an instructor – Ms. Pimlada LERTSIRAWAT (Lookkaew), TG Cabin Crew.

On Tuesday 28 May 2019, KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program 2019 focused on listening to the lecture and practice on the topic “Enhancing Confidence in Communication – How to be a good Emcee” by Dr. Wannana SOONTORNNARUERANGSEE, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Faculty of Humanities at Kasetsart University.

Training workshop on Wednesday morning, 29 May 2019 is another special lecture on “KU Student Ambassador Campus Tour” conducted by Mr. Piwat HITAKORN, an instructor from Department of Foreign Language, Faculty of Humanities at Kasetsart University. The lecturer brought the students to visit a Must Check-in @ Kasetklang Bangkhen such as the Office of Kasetsart University Library, Kasetsart University Hall of History, Three Founders Monument, and Kasetsart University Main Auditorium. This campus visiting is the best way to get to know the university correctly and know how to conduct a campus tour in English fluency as KU Student Ambassador. Then the afternoon was a lecture on the topic. “Experience from a diplomat to KU Student Ambassadors” by lecturer Miss Vowpailin CHOVICHIEN, a Diplomat and a writer, Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand.

Off-campus study activities on Thursday 30 May 2019, the International Affairs Division led KUSAm Batch 2 to attend a lecture and study visit at Thai Catering Department, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, which is located in Suvarnabhumi Airport, to learn more about aviation kitchen business of Thai Airways Public Company Limited since the past until present and plans for the future. This visit received a very warm welcome by executives and personnel at Thai Catering Department, Thai Airways Public Company Limited. All KUSAm students have a chance to taste the delicious in-flight meals of Thai Catering Department which are prepared by specialist airline catering services and normally served to passengers. After that in the afternoon, KUSAm students returned to Kasetsart University to attend a special lecture on the topic “Thai Food and Culture – Bangkok Food Settlement” by Dr. Niphatchanok NAJPINIJ, a lecturer from Suan Dusit Rajabhat University. Students enjoyed that they have learned about Thai food history and origins, and aesthetics in the taste of Thai food either smell or beauty.

Friday May 31 2019, which is the last day of KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program Batch 2, 2019, was a lecture on “Effective Social Network Management” – Social Network for the New Generation by an instructor Mr. Surachai Alex SUANTABTIM, Manager – Thailand Regional Branch Office, Asian Federation of Biotechnology, along with the activities based learning. Later in the afternoon, the activities were conducted through the presentation of the students conducted and evaluated by Mr. Narudol SEMCHUCHOT. Then, there was a KUSAm Certificate and Jacket Award Ceremony presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak TAYJASANANT, Acting Assistant to the President and Acting Director of the International Affairs Division. KU Student Ambassador Training and Workshop Program Batch 2, 2019, ended in beautiful and impressive. There were 72 students participated from all campuses of Kasetsart University and from many faculties such as from Bangkhen Campus, namely Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Agro-Industry and the Faculty of Science; from Sriracha Campus, namely Faculty of Management Science and Faculty of Economics; from Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province Campus, including the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Management Science, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Faculty of Public Health and Faculty of Natural Resources and Agro-Industry; and finally from the Faculty of Arts and Science Kamphaeng Saen Campus. It is great pride that Kasetsart University will have the next batch of KU Student Ambassador (KUSAm) who has the knowledge and ability to represent the university in international activities and well prepared for the future opportunities.
