Undergraduate Student Online Forum: Idea Sharing Contest

  On Wednesday 26 January 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the IAD meeting room on the 10th floor of the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building at Kasetsart University Bangkhen Campus, Kasetsart University organized Undergraduate Student Online Forum: Idea Sharing Contest. Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat, President of Kasetsart University along with Assistant Professor Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs, Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Tayjasanant, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, Miss Araya Bijaphala, Director of International Affairs Division, and personnel of the International Affairs Division joined in the Day 2 Undergraduate Student Online Forum What Students can do to Promote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) : Idea Sharing Contest in Pecha Kucha format under the topic “A Better Tomorrow with SDGs /BCG”, via Webex Meetings program. The event was moderated by Professor Matthew P. Downs, Senior Advisor for International Relations, Kasetsart University.

  The purpose of the Undergraduate Student Online Forum: Idea Sharing Contest in this 2nd round is to provide an opportunity for Kasetsart University students to increase and develop their potential, skills, and ability to internationalization and entering a new era of Societies without Borders and develop creativity of critical thinking on sustainable development goals (SDGs) and sustainable economic models (Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG).

  On this occasion, Professor Matthew P. Downs, Senior Advisor for International Relations invited Assistant Professor Dr. Kampanart Pensupar, Vice President for International Affairs, Kasetsart University to deliver Welcoming remarks to the participants. The Vice President for International Affairs said that “the online forum provided us with an excellent opportunity to gain a greater awareness of sustainability-related concepts. And, the idea sharing contest today provides a stage for the students to hear from their peers, to expand their base of knowledge, and to share ideas about how to ensure a better future for the world. In addition to the idea sharing contest, we will hear two inspirational speeches — by a student representative from Kasetsart University and a student representative from Hiroshima University, Japan. In the contest session, we will hear insightful ideas from the 16 competing teams; the winning team will be announced after the final session. I would like to express my encouragement to all the contestants and my gratitude to the speakers. And, of course, I wish to thank the organizing team for your hard work in setting up this event. I urge all the students and participants to gain the full advantage of this special opportunity.” Then Professor Matthew P. Downs, Senior Advisor for International Relations invited Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat, President of Kasetsart University. The KU President delivered an official opening remarks of Undergraduate Student Online Forum: Idea Sharing Contest Pecha Kucha format “A Better Tomorrow with SDGs /BCG”.

An agenda for the event included as follows.

– Student Talk What we can do to promote SDGs and BCG (20 minutes) by Ms. Chihiro Hasebe, Hiroshima University, Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Division of Educational Sciences, International Education Develop. Followed by a short speech by Kasetsart University’s student team leader by Ms. Parisa Sattinsee, Project Manager, Seed Thailand, a Former President of Student Council, Kasetsart University, Thailand.

  • Introduction of the 5 qualified committees, consisting of:
  1. Mr. Renaud Meyer, Resident Representative, United Nations Development Programme, Thailand
  2. Associate Professor Dr. Cheema Soralump, Department of Environmental Engineering Faculty of Engineering
  3. Assistant Professor Dr. Aracha Krasae-in, Department of Architecture Faculty of Architecture
  4. Assistant Professor Dr. Nadhawee Bunnag, Department of Political Science and Public Administration Faculty of Social Sciences
  5. Associate Professor Dr. Chamaipak Tayjasanant, Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Humanities

The Undergraduate Student Online Forum: What Students can do to Promote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) Day 2.   • Presentation of Awards to Students and Forum Closing by Assistant Professor Ratchot Chompunich, Vice President for Student Affairs and Sustainable Development, Kasetsart University. He said that “Kasetsart University has been honored to hold this KU Undergraduate Student Online Forum. This event has been successful in all respects to our objectives. I am confident that going forward. For all participants, you will apply the knowledge gained and experiences throughout your life.
