Kasetsart University welcomed the release of the 2017 QS (Quaqcarelli Symonds) World University Rankings by Subject on 8 March 2017, in which Kasetsart University was judged to be among the world’s top 50 universities for the study of agriculture and forestry-related disciplines, moving up 18 places from 47^th in the 2016 rankings and making it to 29th internationally. This was the highest ranking achieved by any Thai university for any subject area in the 2013-2017 rankings.

        Environmental sciences, biological science, and chemistry were also ranked at 201 – 250, 401 – 450, and 451 – 500 worldwide. The parameters used by QS to generate the 2017 QS World University Rankings by Subject were academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per paper and H – Index.
