On 25 November, 2016. Dr Chongrak Wacharinrat, Acting President of Kasetsart University, and the administrative team welcomed the delegation group from three leading institutes of higher education in P.R. China that specialized in metal and corrosion research, including 1) the Institute of Metal Research (IMR), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS); 2) the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB); and 3) Qingdao Research Institute for Marine Corrosion.

           Professor Dawei Zhang, representing the three institutions, proposed different forms collaboration with related faculties at Kasetsart University, particularly the Faculties of Engineering on different campuses and the Faculty of International Maritime Studies. The possibilities ranged from conducting such academic activities  as exposure corrosion tests, joint research and development projects, and visiting professor/staff  and student exchange programs, to creating a Memorandum of Understanding between Kasetsart University and the University of Science and Technology Beijing with an appendix on exposure testing.
