The seminar: “North Korea’s abduction of foreign national…”
Faculty of Social Sciences, Kasetsart University hosted an international symposium on “North Korea’s abduction of foreign nationals, and the attitude of the international community” (Foreigner Abductions by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Responses from International Community) during 17-18 November 2016.
On 17 November 2016 at the Conference Room 9, Faculty of Social Sciences; honored by Dr. Chongrak WACHRINRAT, Acting President of Kasetsart University presided over the opening ceremony with a welcome speech for all representatives of foreign governments to stop crimes against humanity in North Korea. The seminar was leaded by Ms. Angkhana Neelapaijit, a member of the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand, Mr. Phil Robertson, Deputy Director, Human Rights Watch, representing the International Coalition to. Stop Crimes against Humanity in North Korea (ICNK) and faculty members to disseminate knowledge about the kidnapping of foreigners and terrorism by the North Korean government; from the experiences of families who have been kidnapped which constitutes a serious violation of human rights and international crime. The aim of the seminar was to raise awareness about the violence and do not ignore the problem. Activities include talked about the lessons, learned and film screenings by getting a lot of attention from students, academics, government agencies, relevant media and the general public.
