Dr. Narongchai Pipattanawong, Acting Vice President for Special Projects together with  Assistant  Professor Dr. Buncha Chinnasri and Assistant  Professor Dr. Apichart Chaengbamrung, Acting administrators,  as well as faculty members of KU gave a warm welcome to Dr. Bounheuang NINCHALEUNE, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Ms. Khamparn PHATOUMMALANGSY, Vice-Dean of Agriculture and Environment from Savannakhet University and  Mr. Inta CHANTHAVONG, Head of Academic Division, FOA, Lao PDR in the occasion of official visit to Kasetsart University on 9 June 2016.

          Savannakhet University is a new university of Laos and it established on 12 October 2009. It located in Savannakhet Provinvce, responsible for human resource development in the central part of Lao PDR included province related: Borlikhamxay, Khammouane, Salavan and Savannakhet Provinces. After the discussion on academic collaboration, the delegates of Savannakhet University said that the University needs more progress on academic and research and faculty members of the University need more scholarships to pursuit their further study aboard. Therefore, Kasetsart and Savannakhet agreed to initiate academic activities in fields of Economics, Logistics and Food Security for development plan.

         After this visit, Savannakhet University will draft an MOU between the two Universities and Kasetsart University will consider the draft before a signing ceremony which will be held in September 2016.
